Yes. Nails are always clipped as short as they can go, however please be aware the shortness is dependant on the quick — the living part of the nail that contains blood vessels and nerves. If you cut the quick on a dog’s nail, it’s going to bleed and since it’s a nerve, it will be painful. With regular grooming and trimming, the quick will naturally recede back over time. This means that with consistent care, we will gradually be able to clip the nails shorter and shorter in future appointments.
