Betty & Brambles Professional Dog Grooming & K9 Care

Betty & Bramble's Professional Dog Grooming & K9 Care is a small, owner-run business based in Cockfield, Suffolk, established in 2020. The service is led by founder Lisa Nightingale, who brings a wealth of experience from the public sector and a background working with working dogs. Lisa trained as a Professional Dog Groomer at Riverside Dog Grooming School in Manchester and previously worked within another grooming business to refine her skills and understand the daily operations of a salon. The business prides itself on a friendly, approachable, and considerate approach, prioritising the welfare of every dog in its care. Lisa is committed to a safe and secure environment where dogs can relax, offering value for money without rushing the grooming process.

The grooming salon offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to different needs, from full grooms and mid-groom tidy-ups to specialised treatments like hand stripping and de-shedding. A key specialism is the care of nervous or anxious dogs, for whom the business offers desensitisation sessions. These sessions are conducted on a two-groomer-to-one-dog basis to help dogs acclimatise to the salon environment and the grooming process. The team also provides puppy packages designed to gently introduce young dogs to grooming, starting with a 'Baby Groom' and progressing to 'Toddler Groom' and 'Grown Up Groom' appointments. Additionally, the business offers doggy teeth cleaning using the Emmipet ultrasonic toothbrush system to improve oral hygiene.

Customer feedback consistently highlights the welcoming atmosphere and the high standard of care provided. Reviewers frequently praise the calm environment and the attention to detail, noting that their dogs are happy and look wonderful upon collection. Specific praise is often directed at the owner, Lisa, for her friendly and helpful approach. One customer mentioned that their English Springer Spaniel, Bunty, looked amazing after the visit, while another described the business as a 'lovely happy place' for their furry friend. The team's ability to work with dogs of various temperaments and the use of treats and tummy tickles are also recurring themes in positive reviews.

The business is dedicated to providing a complete service for dogs in the Suffolk area. Beyond the core grooming services, the team offers regular breaks during appointments and a spritz of doggy cologne to leave every dog smelling fresh. The salon is equipped to handle a variety of breeds, including wire-coated dogs, and offers breed standard styling using clipping, scissoring, and hand stripping techniques. The business is committed to the long-term health of a dog's coat, explaining that hand stripping is essential for certain breeds to prevent matting and irritation. By combining professional grooming skills with a genuine love for dogs, Betty & Bramble's aims to build lasting relationships with both pets and their owners.
