Fluff & Foam is a small, calm grooming salon tucked just off the centre of Manchester, run single-handed by Emma Whitlock. After twelve years in the trade Emma still does every dog herself from start to finish — no cages, no conveyor belt, no handing your dog between three different people. One dog at a time, at their own pace. Her happy place is a tricky doodle coat or a nervous rescue who has never much enjoyed being groomed; she never rushes and never restrains unnecessarily, and most of her regulars came to her as anxious dogs who now trot straight in. Emma trained the proper way, hand-strips terriers as the breed coat intends, and holds an iPET Level 3 diploma in cat grooming too, so the cats are in good hands as well. Expect a warm bath, a proper blow-dry and brush-out, a breed-appropriate finish, and a dog who comes home smelling lovely and feeling calm. If your dog needs something specific, just say the word — Emma would always rather get it right than rush it.

Yes — our Puppy First Groom is a gentle introduction designed for puppies between 12 weeks and 6 months. It's shorter than a full groom and focuses on positive handling so they aren't put off for life.
When you book online the system works out the exact appointment length for you — it's based on your dog's breed and size and the service you pick, so the time you see is the time we've set aside. As a guide a full groom runs about 90 minutes to 2 hours. We work one-to-one, so your dog isn't crated waiting around between stages.
Most of our regulars came to us nervous. We never rush and we never restrain unnecessarily. If your dog is severely anxious we'll start with a shorter taster session before a full groom.
Yes — we offer wet bath full grooms, dry bath full grooms, and lion cuts. Cat grooming is by appointment only. Emma holds the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming.
For the safety of our team we don't currently groom XL Bullies, American Bullies, American Pit Bull Terriers, Akitas, Chow Chows, Cane Corsos, Dogo Argentinos or Presa Canarios. Online bookings for these breeds will be blocked at checkout.
Light matting is included in your groom. Severe matting (where we have to clip rather than brush) carries a £10 surcharge because it takes significantly longer and is harder on the equipment. Please see our matting policy for the full details.
